Craig Berube has a noticeably different look of late as he coaches the Toronto Maple Leafs

There’s a huge cut across the top of his head, a gash that’s hard not to notice.

It has hockey fans talking, wondering what happened.

Berube explained the scoop last week.

Why does Craig Berube have a cut on his head?

Berube himself has been added to the injury list after a mishap in the gym.

The Leafs leader revealed to reporters last Friday that he’s now got a big gash, stitched up, across much of the top of his head.

“I had an accident in the gym yesterday,” Berube said. “The other guy looks way worse, there was three of them. It was tough. It was just a bad accident. It’s all my fault. I’m fine.”

Berbue hasn’t missed any games coaching with the gash.

They have lost both games he has coached since the cut, a 6-3 defeat to Vegas and a 4-1 loss to Colorado.

They’re back in action Tuesday night at home against the Buffalo Sabres.
