So close, yet so far. That’s what Los Angeles Rams receiver Davante Adams must be feeling after his team suffered a 31-27 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship game.
With Adams for some, a future Hall of Famer, there’s one thing missing from his resume, and that is a Super Bowl win.
And he was so close to getting to the big dance, only to fall agonizingly short.
We have seen Adams speak post-game and be in tears, struggling to get his thoughts and emotions out, and it was a tough watch. But this stat is even tougher for Davante.
In his career, Adams is now 0-5 in championship games. That’s brutal.
Now, Adams’ career comes into focus with the veteran’s playing future murky at best.

Will Adams return in 2026?
Davante is under contract next season and, per Spotrac.com, is set to have a $18 million base salary and will count $28 million against the cap.
So yeah, we think Adams will return.
The same question can be asked of Matthew Stafford, who at 37 is still playing at a high level.
So, the Rams will be eagerly awaiting No. 9’s response to his playing future.
But for Adams, after a fifth straight loss in a championship game, he must be wondering what he’s done to deserve that.
