Jose Suarez and George Soriano would be forgiven if they’ve had a tough time keeping track.

Thanks to Fangraphs’ Jon Becker, we have this helpful timeline:

  • Nov. 5: Orioles claim Soriano off waivers from Marlins.
  • Jan. 5: Orioles designate Soriano for assignment.
  • Jan. 9: Braves claim Soriano off waivers from Orioles.
  • Jan. 15: Orioles claim Suarez off waivers from Braves.
  • Jan. 22: Orioles designate Suarez for assignment.
  • Jan. 29: Braves claim Suarez off waivers from Orioles.
  • Jan. 29: Braves designate Soriano for assignment.

Well, if the Orioles want to follow suit, they’re due to claim Soriano off waivers again.

It’s quite the quirky transactional sequence.
