The UFC begins its partnership with Paramount+ with UFC 324. The main event will see Justin Gaethje facing Paddy Pimblett for the interim UFC lightweight title.

Interim gold is on the line after Ilia Topuria, the champion, was forced out of action due to personal issues. Top contender Arman Tsarukyan may be next in line.

Gaethje (26-5) is a former interim lightweight and BMF Champion. “The Highlight” is 3-1 in his last four fights and has 20 wins via knockout.

The 37-year-old has plans to retire by 2027. Before then, he hopes to finally hold UFC gold. First, he must win the interim belt.

Pimblett (23-3) is on a nine-fight win streak, beating Michael Chandler in April. The former Cage Warriors featherweight champion has quickly become a threat and believes there will be a changing of the guard at UFC 324.

“You’ve got to beat your heroes to become one of them, and I’ve always loved watching Justin Gaethje fight,” Pimblett told ESPN. “No stone will be left unturned in the build-up to this fight.

“He’s a legend. He’s your favourite fighter’s favourite fighter. He’s one of mine, and obviously I’m going to feel bad beating him up, but once you’re in the cage it’s different.”

Also on the card will be former champions Sean O’Malley, Deiveson Figueiredo, and Rose Namajunas, fan favorites Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Derrick Lewis, and more.
