Nicolas Claxton was excellent for the Brooklyn Nets in their game against the Boston Celtics on Friday night. He played 39 minutes in the game, but he had to exit for some time because he hurt his pinky finger.

While this might seem like a minor injury for some people, Claxton will have to go through some scans on Saturday. He will have X-ray and MRI scans to confirm his status, which can be concerning if the pinky is worse than expected.

Claxton’s injury will be cleared up on Saturday

Some people might scoff at the idea of a pinky injury, but it can be impactful for the Nets. He is one of the team’s best big men, so losing him would be a big blow to their productivity.

While Noah Clowney and Day’Ron Sharpe are capable of filling the void, Claxton is such a good player that he deserves to play as much as he can. This could also hurt some potential trades if the injury is worse than initially feared.

Claxton is one of the most valuable big men defenders in the league. With his energy, they are a dangerous team to play against. Moving forward, the Nets would want to have him on the roster, as he provides elite defense.

At the same time, he always approaches the game with good energy. Claxton will set the tone for the Nets every time he plays. However, this could be an issue with this latest injury.

“It’s sore, I really don’t know. Just gotta get X-rays and MRIs. It was sore, though, just locking up. I just put some tape on it, I’ll know more tomorrow,” Claxton said after the game against Boston.

Claxton will want to keep playing, as he has found his stride as of late. However, the Nets fans will need to take some time to think about Claxton missing games with a potential injury.
