The 2025 trade deadline came and went on Tuesday and there were several notable moves.

Quinnen Williams, Sauce Gardner, Jakobi Meyers, and Rashid Shaheed were among the biggest names moved on deadline day. There were also several notable players who were frequently rumored to be on the move but ended up staying put, like Trey Hendrickson, Breece Hall, and Bradley Chubb.

The Jacksonville Jaguars entered Tuesday not being featured in many trade rumors. However, the team ended up swinging a deal for Meyers to bolster the receiver room. Standout rookie Travis Hunter was recently placed on injured reserve, and the team needed another weapon next to Brian Thomas Jr.

Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports identified the biggest winners and losers from the deadline. Benjamin identified Meyers as one of his biggest winners.

The veteran receiver was wasting away in Las Vegas with the Raiders, and had publicly made it known he wanted out. The veteran gets his wish and gets to help the Jaguars push for a playoff berth.

Regarding Meyers and the Jaguars, Benjamin offered the following:

The Jacksonville Jaguars quietly bolstered their receiving corps before the flurry of big-name deals Tuesday, sending a pair of picks to the Las Vegas Raiders for Meyers.

Hunter’s injury ensures Meyers should get plenty of immediate looks from Trevor Lawrence, and the best part for him is he shouldn’t have to wait long to reassess his options and market, considering he’s also due to test free agency in the 2026 offseason.

As Benjamin mentioned, Meyers should get plenty of targets with Hunter being out. Not only could the veteran get the chance to play in the postseason, but he could also build up his stock before he tests free agency in the spring.

So far in 2025, Meyers has played in seven games and has 33 catches for 352 yards. The veteran has yet to find the end zone this season, but the Raiders’ offense has struggled mightily as a whole.

Meyers had his best season as a pro just last year. In 2024, Meyers played in 15 games for the Raiders and caught 87 passes for 1,027 yards and four touchdowns. That’s the only time Meyers has eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark, but he did eclipse 800 yards in three prior seasons.
