New York Knicks forward Josh Hart has looked closer to the version that Knicks fans have come to adore since his arrival during the 2022-23 season.
After a very rough start to the season for Hart — who has been playing through a hand/finger injury — the Swiss Army knife of the Knicks has looked much better over the team’s last two games, both of which are wins against the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards.
Hart scored 14 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out three assists in the Knicks 128-116 win over the Bulls, and followed that up with a 12-point, 10-rebound, 5-assist performance on Monday against the Bulls. Hart is also three for eight from three-point range in his last two games.
Prior to his recent hot stretch, Hart was seemingly having a hard time adjusting to Mike Brown’s system, and his body language echoed that sentiment. After the win against Washington, Hart spoke about how his emotions are just part of who he is as a player.
“It’s what makes me me,” Hart said. “There’s a good side to it and also, at times, there’s a bad side to it. Chicago was a bad side. I was visibly upset, my body language was terrible. I was frustrated and I’ve got to take accountability for that. I was terrible. That’s the one thing about me is that I wear my heart on my sleeve. I’ve got to try to control it. I’ve been trying for 30 years, now. I’ve got to make sure no matter what the situation, I’m breathing life into these guys and not taking life.”
Hart will look to continue his superb play of late on Wednesday when the Knicks play host to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
