The Sacramento Kings were without one of their playmakers on Monday night.

Malik Monk wasn’t available to take on the high-powered Denver Nuggets.

The Kings still had a bunch of their veteran talent on the floor, but taking away a guy like Monk made things just that much tougher.

Why isn’t Malik Monk playing tonight?

Malik Monk was ruled out for Monday’s game due to personal reasons.

It’s the second game in a row that Monk has missed.

The Kings have not specified for what reason exactly Monk is out.

All they know is he’s not out there.

Monk began this season in a great place, pouring in 15 points per game.

Without him, the Kings have to lean just a bit more on the likes of Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan. Obviously, those veterans can handle it, but having Monk to diversify the attack a bit doesn’t hurt.

It’s not clear how long until Monk comes back, but he wasn’t out there on Monday.
