The 2-7 New York Giants should look to sell off at least some players before the NFL trade deadline passes on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 4 p.m. ET.
Chances are the Giants won’t be moving any major pieces considering the hotter-than-the-sun seats head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen are on, but there are some minor trades the team could in terms of selling.
Two names to keep an eye on are wide receiver Jalin Hyatt and offensive lineman Evan Neal. ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reports that New York is having conversations with teams about both players.
“The Giants have talked to teams in recent weeks about OL Evan Neal and WR Jalin Hyatt being available, per sources. Neal was active for his first game this year on Sunday and Hyatt returned kickoffs,” Raanan reported.
It is most definitely time for the Giants to wave the white flag on both players, who have been completely irrelevant this season.
As Ranaan points out, Neal was finally active for the first time this season in Week 9 and Hyatt has a measly 11 receptions for 79 scoreless yards over his last 22 games dating back to last season.
The problem with the idea of trading either player is they have zero value. Both have been so disappointing that teams might not even be willing to give up a seventh-round pick.
If there is a team out there willing to do that for either player, the Giants shouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger since they aren’t using Hyatt and Neal, anyway.
