With Terry McLaurin sidelined for yet another game, the Washington Commanders are going to need more out of Deebo Samuel in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks.
With McLaurin missing a handful of games this season, Samuel has operated as the Commanders’ No. 1 wideout for much of the season. Through seven games, Samuel leads the team with 326 receiving yards.
However, Samuel is off to a quiet start in the Week 9 game versus Seattle. Here’s a closer look at what’s going on.
Is Deebo Samuel playing tonight?
Yes, Samuel is active and in the lineup, but he hasn’t been targeted through one drive. He did, however receive a carry on the opening series, but it was negated due to a penalty.
Instead of connecting with Samuel, quarterback Jayden Daniels completed two passes to tight end Zach Ertz on an unsuccessful drive that ended with a punt.
Here’s to hoping Samuel gets going on the Commanders’ second drive.
