Ernie Clement truly can’t stop hitting.
No matter how the World Series Game 7 ends, the Toronto Blue Jays‘ infielder will head into the winter on a hitting streak.
For the last 13 games, Clement has had at least one hit.
That 13-game hitting streak is a new Toronto record.
Previously, Pat Borders had a 12-game hitting streak in 1992 en route to a World Series title.
No one had put up a 13-game hitting streak for the Blue Jays in the playoffs. Until now.
Clement is a tremendous story.
He was let go by Cleveland, then Oakland.
Even at the start of this season, he was viewed mostly as a short-side platoon bat for the Blue Jays to face left-handed pitching.

Now, Clement is indispensable. He can’t come out of the lineup.
For him to have a record like this for the Blue Jays is incredible. It’s special.
And if Toronto can finish the job, it’s even better.
Clement has been a playoff hero from start to finish for the Blue Jays.
It doesn’t matter where you come from. When you take the stage, you’ve got to seize your chance.
Clement has grabbed it with all he’s got.
