The Cleveland Browns are drawing interest in plenty of their players ahead of the NFL trade deadline. At 2-6, the Browns have plenty of trade chips that could be on the move.
One of the most interesting names to monitor is superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett. His name has been floated in trade rumors, specifically with the Philadelphia Eagles.
However, according to NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Browns are taking a firm stance on those trade rumors. One that shuts down any chance of a stunning trade deadline deal.
Browns’ Myles Garrett ‘is not’ getting traded according to an NFL insider
“Cleveland star Myles Garrett is not getting traded,” Russini reports. “Teams have checked in, but as one high-ranking source texted: ‘He’s a Brown and will remain a Brown.'”
Garrett’s name has been brought up in trade speculation often in the last year. During his contract dispute with the Browns, there were plenty of teams linked to the All-Pro pass rusher.
But once Garrett signed his $160 million contract over four seasons, the trade speculation surrounding him died down.
Not for long, as after the browns’ rough start, and Garrett’s frustrations on the sideline during his five-sack performance against the New England Patriots, trade speculation began ramping up once again.

Trading for Garrett won’t come cheap, as it’d cost at a minimum two first-round picks, and likely a good deal more. While a team like the Eagles could make such a splash, the Browns aren’t planning to move Garrett anytime soon.
The 29-year-old pass rusher isn’t expected to be on the move, as this report from Russini indicates that, despite the recent surge in rumors, Garrett is not getting traded.
Garrett has an NFL-leading 10 sacks and 15 tackles for loss this season. While it could set them up for success in the future, it’d be an indictment of the franchise that they moved on from such an incredible player in the first year of a massive extension.
