If there’s one position almost every team in the NFL is looking to add to, it’s edge rusher, where the Detroit Lions, Baltimore Ravens, Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles are all in search for help.

This comes from Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, who says all four teams “have shown interest in adding edge rushers” ahead of the deadline.

“The Lions, Ravens, Commanders and (again) Eagles all have shown interest in adding edge rushers,” Breer wrote.

The Lions are in need of more depth behind Aidan Hutchinson and Al-Quadin Muhammad, and that’s especially true with Marcus Davenport on the shelf.

Detroit has still done a good job getting after the quarterback, as evidenced by their its being tied for the fifth-most sacks in the NFL, so general manager Brad Holmes likely isn’t desperate.

The Eagles are welcoming back Brandon Graham, but that’s not enough to satisfy the team’s need in the wake of Za’Darius Smith retiring. Philly has just 16 sacks through eight games.

Washington finds itself in a tough spot sitting at 3-5, so general manager Adam Peters might be hesitant to buy.

That said, the Commanders desperately need help with the injuries to Dorance Armstrong, Deatrich Wise Jr., Javonte Jean-Baptiste and Drake Jackson.

Baltimore’s 11 sacks are tied for the third-lowest mark in the league. The decision to trade away Odafe Oweh to the Los Angeles Chargers is looking worse by the day and Kyle Van Noy and Mike Green haven’t produced the way the Ravens hoped.

Bear in mind, these won’t be the only four teams looking for an edge rusher, so there is going to be a massive struggle to add to a position that might not have many options available.
