The Philadelphia Eagles have won their last two games to get to 6-2 on the season. They go into their bye week with a comfortable lead in the NFC East, and could become the first team to repeat as NFC East champion in two decades.
Coming off a Super Bowl win, the Eagles could make a big move at the deadline to help them get back and try to repeat. Ben Solak of ESPN labels Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson as a prime target for Philadelphia.
“Cincinnati should unquestionably trade Hendrickson,” Ben Solak writes. “This season is lost and he has only one season remaining on his deal. Getting multiple picks to retool their defense with talented youth is a better short- and long-term plan for the Bengals than extending the almost-31-year-old pass rusher who has dealt with injuries this season. For the Eagles, additional pass-rush juice is a must-find at the deadline if their defense is to return to Super Bowl form.”
The Bengals are 3-5. Should they fall to 3-6 against the Chicago Bears, their season will be over, for all practical purposes. Should that be the case, trading Hendrickson would make the most sense, rather than letting him walk in 2026 for nothing.
In terms of what that could mean for the Eagles, we know they aren’t afraid to make big trades and trade draft picks for proven great players in order to make a push for a Super Bowl. Considering what Hendrickson would bring to their defense as the reigning sack king, this would be a huge acquisition.
