The World Series Game 4 home plate umpire isn’t coming off a great performance.

And early in Game 4, a few ball-strike calls already looked to be different than what the official strike zone dictated.

It’s certainly something worth watching as the Los Angeles Dodgers take a 2-1 series lead into the game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

The World Series Game 4 home plate umpire in 2025 is Doug Eddings.

Is Doug Eddings a good umpire?

Eddings is in the major leagues, so he’s not a bad umpire.

But he’s had a rough stretch.

In Game 2 of the ALCS, he missed 24 calls, according to Umpire Auditor.

That was the worst called playoff game since 2022, another game called by Eddings.
