Barcelona are planning transfer deals for 2026 despite their delicate financial situation.
The defending La Liga champions have battled against fiscal issues in recent years and their start to the 2025/26 season was dominated by registration problems over new players.
Club captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s injury provided an unorthodox solution as his ‘salary space’ was used to register summer signing Joan Garcia and loans and sales were needed to wrap up Marcus Rashford’s paperwork.
Hansi Flick is keen to keep Rashford beyond the end of next season, but Manchester United will demand £30m [$40m] to activate a purchase option.
However, a permanent agreement on Rashford may not be the only Premier League deal struck by the Catalans, with Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz on Flick’s radar.
Palace lost star man Eberechi Eze toArsenal over the summer, but they retained club captain Marc Guehi, who is now on course to leave Selhurst Park as a free agent in 2026.

Oliver Glasner is preparing for multiple offers on key stars, including Adam Wharton and Jean-Philippe Mateta, but Munoz is also an option with a transfer value of around £22m [$29m].
Why do Barcelona want Daniel Munoz?
Palace will not be panicked into a sale, with the Eagles having an option to extend Munoz’s contract by 12 months, with Colombian’s current contract running until 2028.
Munoz has established himself as first-choice under Glasner – and one of the Premier League’s top right-backs – and Barcelona are prepared to match Palace’s valuation as per Fichajes.net.
Flick s happy with Jules Kounde as Barcelona’s current right-back, but the French international sees his future back in central defence, and there are ongoing doubts over the futures of Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen.

Munoz would allow Kounde to shuffle inside and his stats so far this season underline why Flick is keeping an eye on his progress.
The 29-year-old has the highest success rate for tackles made by right-backs in the EPL this season with 55% narrowly ahead of Jurrien Timber.
