The Buffalo Bills are locked in a dogfight against the Carolina Panthers as Sean McDermott’s team is looking to avoid a brutal three-game losing streak.
With the Bills coming off their bye week, there is an urgency to get back on the winner’s list, and leading 19-3 at halftime, Buffalo, after a scrappy first half, appears to be on its way.
But the offense still hasn’t looked too good, with Josh Allen going six of 13 for just 66 yards while James Cook has been the star of the show, rushing for 153 yards on 12 carries with a long 64-yard run as the big highlight.
But what hasn’t been a highlight has been the play of young receiver Keon Coleman.
At halftime, Keon hasn’t even had a catch in Carolina and has only had one target. Yes, you read that right.
After just three catches for 11 yards against the Atlanta Falcons before the bye, Coleman is again off to a slow start, this time against the Panthers.

Tough sledding for offense vs. Panthers
While the Bills posted 204 total yards of offense, 158 of them came on the ground, as the passing attack has struggled… yet again.
The silver lining for Joe Brady’s unit is that, despite the offense not playing well, leading by 16 points on the road is nothing to sneeze at. And there is still another half to go, so Allen and the Bills have time to try and get their game in proper order.
Ideally, getting Coleman involved, along with Khalil Shakir (three receptions, 25 yards), Dalton Kincaid (one reception, 23 yards), and others, will help the Bills get into some groove.
The first half wasn’t great viewing, but the Bills just need to navigate this second half and try to escape Carolina with a win.
Which will be far easier if Coleman gets involved.
