The start of the Pete Carroll era in Las Vegas has been a bit bumpy, but there’s still plenty of reason for Raiders fans to be optimistic about the future.

The glass-half-empty crowd will point to the Raiders’ 2-5 record, their shaky offensive line and Geno Smith’s relative failure to launch. The glass-half-full bunch will point to Brock Bower returning soon and the high ceiling of rookie star Ashton Jeanty.

What’s next for Vegas? First, a bye week, which will give Bowers one last week to get healthy. Then, a home game against the Jaguars, who have looked very beatable the past few weeks.
