The LSU Tigers have officially hit a brick wall in their dwindling playoff hopes. The Tigers were leading at halftime against the Texas A&M Aggies, but in the second half, they seemed to disappear. That collapse is a reflection of how the season has been going for them.
“Texas A&M used a monster second-half effort to zoom past LSU and move a step closer to the SEC Championship Game. The Aggies scored 35 unanswered points in the second half behind a strong effort from quarterback Marcel Reed to fly past LSU for a historic victory,” CBS Sports’ Shehan Jeyarajah wrote.
The loss was another blow to the Tigers’ reputation. LSU head coach Brian Kelly had previously fired Texas A&M’s strength coach, and it seems the Aggies are now getting the last laugh.
“One of Brian Kelly’s first moves as LSU coach was firing Tommy Moffitt – a legendary strength coach who was part of all 3 LSU titles this century. Tommy Moffitt is now the strength coach at Texas A&M. This is the second year in a row A&M has absolutely BULLIED LSU. Just sayin,” Fox Sports’ Aaron Torres wrote.
Kelly was clearly embarrassed by the loss, and it makes his job even more challenging. During the game, a camera caught him yelling at his offensive coordinator through the headset.
“What are you doing, Joe? You can’t throw that with no f—ing time outs,” Kelly told OC Joe Sloan.

Tensions in Baton Rouge are at an all-time high. While there is still plenty of football left to be played, it seems changes may be coming. Kelly going off on his OC wasn’t meant to be seen, but now it adds another layer to the already tension-filled environment at LSU.
