No. 10 Vanderbilt welcomes No. 15 Missouri to Nashville on Saturday afternoon for a clash that could shake up both the SEC standings and the College Football Playoff picture.
It’ll mark the 17th all-time meeting between the former SEC East rivals, and the last one until 2027, when the league officially jumps to a nine-game conference schedule. Missouri has long had the upper hand in this matchup, holding a 12-4-1 series lead and riding a four-game winning streak over the Commodores. Three of those victories came by comfortable margins of at least two scores.
However, this isn’t the same old Vanderbilt squad. The Commodores took Missouri to double overtime last season and look like a team on a mission this time around. They enter the weekend fresh off a gritty 31-24 win over LSU, their second victory against a top-15 opponent this year, and have yet to taste defeat at home.
