The Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers will get underway with the 2025 World Series on Friday night.
Game 1 will feature veteran pitcher Blake Snell for the Dodgers and rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage for the Blue Jays.

Blue Jays reveal Kevin Gausman will start Game 2
With Yesavage starting Game 1 of the World Series against the Dodgers, it’s no surprise veteran pitcher Kevin Gausman will get the ball in Game 2.
Gausman has a 2.00 ERA across his 18 innings this postseason with a 1.056 WHIP, and 12 strikeouts.

With the Blue Jays’ rookie on the mound to start Game 1, Toronto should feel confident ahead of Game 2, regardless of the outcome in Game 1, with Gausman on the mound.
If the Blue Jays win, they’ll look to take a 2-0 lead in series with their ace on the mound, and if they lose Game 1, they’ll look to even the series with Gausman on the mound.
The Blue Jays’ ace has gone 5.2 innings in each of his three starts in the playoffs, and hasn’t allowed more than two runs.

Gausman holds a career-3.71 ERA in the postseason and had struggled prior to the 2025 postseason, but he’s turned it around this year.
With Gausman on the mound for the Blue jays in Game 2, the Dodgers will have Yoshinobu Yamamoto starting. It could be a pitchers duel in Game 2, but you can never count either of these offenses out.
