One of the greatest spectacles in all of sports, the 2025 edition of the World Series, begins Friday, Oct. 24 with Shohei Ohtani and the reigning-champion Dodgers taking on the emergent Blue Jays.

The storylines are plentiful, none bigger than the stacked favorites from LA against the worst-to-first sleepers from our neighbor up north. It’s like the big, bad locomotive of the Dodgers is dealing with the little engine that could from baseball’s most unsuspecting city in North America.

Los Angeles has sure looked dominant thus far. Dave Roberts’ club has cruised through the first three rounds with a 9-1 record, mowing opponents down from the mound while also enjoying timely hitting from its stacked lineup. In seven of the Dodgers’ nine postseason wins, they doubled their opponents’ score.

But the Blue Jays have plenty of juice, and they won’t spend one minute of this series intimidated. They have plenty of power, veteran pitching, and a clutch gene that helped them advance past the high-powered Yankees and Mariners to get here.
