Chauncey Billups arrest details

Billups was arrested on Thursday, October 23, for his involvement in illegal sports gambling.

We currently only know two things about Billups’ arrest: first, that the games in question were not games where he was coaching.

Second, more details will be released later in the morning on Thursday, October 23, in a press conference led by FBI Director Kash Patel.

Billups and Rozier’s arrests were determined not to be for the same event, but are in the same overall investigation. Rozier’s arrest was tied to a specific game. Billups’ arrest was tied to an “illegal poker operation tied to the Mafia,” per ABC News

Chauncey Billups gambling investigation

We don’t have many details about the investigation into Billups. The only thing we know is that ABC is reporting that his charges are tied to an illegal poker operation with ties to the Mafia. While it is an NBA head coach, and on the same morning that Rozier was arrested, the charges are not related outside of being in the same overarching investigation by the FBI.

Did Chauncey Billups gamble on games?

We are waiting for the full investigation report, but for now, no, it doesn’t seem to be the case. His charges are tied to an illegal poker operation with the Mafia. This could also be why it wasn’t on the NBA’s radar since it wasn’t tied to sports gambling.
