Both the Chargers and Vikings look to gain ground in the standings as they clash on “Thursday Night Football” this week.

Minnesota (3-3) could use a boost in a crowded NFC North, which looks like the best division in football. Carson Wentz once again will draw the start at quarterback as JJ McCarthy works his way back from a high ankle sprain that has sidelined him for the last four games.

But Wentz is also working through a shoulder injury and threw a pair of interceptions in last week’s six-point loss to the Eagles.

Los Angeles (4-3) last week fell out of first place in the AFC West, another uber-competitive division, following a 14-point home loss to the surging Colts. Justin Herbert threw for 420 yards in the loss, attempting 55 passes while also tossing a pair of interceptions.

When these two teams last met in 2023, Herbert threw for 405 yards in an LA victory.
