Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown is finally on the practice field at The Star as the former Texas Longhorn edges closer to his return.
Having seen his season end early last year due to a devastating knee injury that saw three different ligaments torn, “Agent 0” was just beginning to hit his stride before the injury, and now he is so close to his comeback he can taste it.
A realistic date is against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 11, so the powerful linebacker is itching to get back on the field with his team.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer has detailed how Overshown has gone about his rehab, while also offering an update on his status.
“I just love the kid,” Schottenheimer said. “His mindset, he’s never had a bad day, he’s been dialed in on getting back. He’s had a vision of what it’s going to look like, and he’s just that much closer to getting back out there and playing in games. But we’ll see how he does, and there’ll be a ramp-up period. But we’re getting close.”

Cowboys getting reinforcements back
Along with Overshown having his 21-day practice window opened, so too did corner Shavon Revel Jr. and center Cooper Beebe, so the Dallas treatment room is beginning to clear out.
As Schottenheimer stated, Overshown will undergo a ramp-up period, and so too with Revel Jr. and Beebe, as all three, when healthy, can expect to slot into starting positions for Schottenheimer.
“Looking forward to getting them back out there,” Schottenheimer added when asked if all three were still on schedule. “I know they got big smiles on their faces.”
Cowboys Nation will also have smiles on their faces because with Overshown and Revel Jr. coming back, that will certainly improve the defense, but we can’t expect miracles out of the gate.
But just having them back on the field is a big deal, and it appears that might be sooner rather than later.
