The MLB season is winding down. The World Series rounds out the rest of October, but that means it’s almost awards season across the sport. The Silver Slugger award winners will be announced on Nov. 6.

Today, the finalists were released for the Silver Slugger award in the NL. The Los Angeles Dodgers had one of the best offenses in the big leagues this season, and they had no shortage of Silver Slugger finalists, but who are the names that have a shot at winning the illustrious positional award?

Breakdown of Dodgers Silver Slugger award finalists

The list of Silver Slugger award finalists was released today, and four Dodgers were named.

At first base, Freddie Freeman is alongside Pete Alonso and Matt Olson as a finalist. Freeman is a three-time Silver Slugger. In 147 games this season, Freeman hit 24 home runs and slugged .502 with 90 RBIs. Alonso will likely take home the bat at first base because of his monster offensive season, where he hit 30+ home runs and drove in 120+ runs.

Max Muncy was also named a finalist at third base. Muncy has not won a Silver Slugger in his career. He missed some time due to injury, which restricted him to 100 games, but Muncy hit 19 home runs and had an OPS+ of 136.

The other two Dodgers’ finalists were Shohei Ohtani and Will Smith. It’s hard to tell if either of them will take home the award. Shohei is battling with Kyle Schwarber at the DH spot, and Will Smith is battling with Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman.

Ohtani’s stats speak for themselves, as he’s won the Silver Slugger for DH in three of the last four seasons. As for Smith, he is still searching for his first award. Smith hit .296 this season with 17 home runs and 61 RBIs.
