The Carolina Panthers‘ newest signing looks the part and has a great name.
According to the NFL’s official transactions log, the Panthers have signed Jeremiah Moon to their practice squad.
Moon is a 6-foot-5, 27-year old outside linebacker.
He was most recently with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he was cut in August.
Moon is originally from Alabama, and he played his college football at Florida.
In his NFL career, Moon has appeared in 13 games, including two starts.
He played eight games for the Baltimore Ravens in 2023, recording 12 tackles, including one for loss. He forced two fumbles that season.
In 2024, Moon moved on to the Pittsburgh Steelers for 13 more games. He made nine tackles in that stint.

Moon originally went undrafted in 2022 and was signed by the Ravens, but he didn’t make it into any regular season games that year.
He has spent his entire NFL existence being moved up and down on practice squads, along with being waived and then re-signed.
It’s what life is like on the fringes of an NFL roster, and Moon is just trying to keep his football career alive. He’ll get his latest chance to do that by leaving the AFC North and heading south to Charlotte, N.C. to play for the Panthers.
