There’s no question that Michael Jordan is one of the greatest players in NBA history.
There are questions about other parts of his life, like his yellow-tinted eyes.
The six-time NBA champion made his debut on NBC’s NBA show and revealed some interesting facts about his relationship with basketball. The cameras planted in Jordan’s home showed his eyes with their usual yellow color.
So does the basketball legend have a medical condition?
Why are Michael Jordan’s eyes yellow?
Michael Jordan has never given a conclusive answer on why his eyes are yellow. There are a few medical conditions that could cause discoloration around his irises.
- Complexion-Associated Melanosis: Otherwise known as “CAM,” is a pigmentation issue that is seen in older people with darker skin. It’s considered harmless.
- Jaundice: This condition involves the liver being unable to produce a bilirubin, which can cause the skin and eyes to turn yellow.
- Pinguecula: When calcium or fat collect on the white of the eyes forming a yellow or white bump.
- Vitamin B12 Deficiency: B12 produces red blood cells. If there is a shortage it can cause a pale or yellow shade on the skin or eyes.

None of these conditions are considered fatal and Jordan is not lacking medical resources. His yellow-tinted eyes have been a common sight in retirement and likely aren’t going away anytime soon.
