The Baltimore Ravens know that time is of the essence if they are to make a serious run at making the playoffs.

Despite being 1-5, there is still hope that when Lamar Jackson returns, which some think could be this week, the Ravens can flip the switch and go on a run that will propel them into the playoff conversation.

Given that the defense showed improvement against the Rams, and the offense was able to run the football with Derrick Henry, it was just the self-inflicted wounds that cost Baltimore.

So, can the Ravens now go on a run post-bye? Of course, that is easier said than done, and it sounds simple enough, and for receiver Zay Flowers, it really is.

“We still got pieces all around the field,” Flowers said. “It’s just we got to put it all together, and it’s tough when you missing your starting quarterback, but we still got all our pieces. We got everything we need. We just got to put it all together.”

Is Ravens’ plan really that simple?

Well, the Ravens still have Henry, Mark Andrews, Flowers, Isaiah Likely, Rashod Bateman, DeAndre Hopkins, and Justice Hill, so there are plenty of weapons.

All that is needed is for Lamar to bring it all together, right?

In theory, it sounds like a foolproof plan, but as we know, even with Lamar in the team, the Ravens were still losing games, so to think that upon his return, it will be business as usual, it might not be as such.

If there is one player who can lift his team from this sort of position, it is Jackson, but goodness me, that is putting a lot of pressure on his shoulders after being out injured for a handful of weeks.

But if Baltimore wants playoff football, Lamar might have to be Superman.
