The Baltimore Ravens can’t figure it out.

This has been a no-good, very-bad, never-ending-nightmare season from the darkest depths for a team that was one of the Super Bowl favorites entering the year.

The record speaks for itself: 1-5.

Has a Super Bowl favorite ever been this bad?

It all kind of feels like it could’ve been different, too. If the Ravens had held on to that 40-25 lead in Week 1 over the Buffalo Bills, instead of losing 41-40 in epic fashion, maybe they’d be just fine.

But that loss did happen, and the Ravens have hardly found their footing since. Now, they’ve been without Lamar Jackson for a few weeks due to a hamstring injury, and it’s almost starting to feel not worth it to rush him back.

At this point, the Ravens are trying everything to fix the problem.

That includes removing all the fun from their locker room.

This is what The Baltimore Sun shared in a new story this week:

“The Ravens promptly removed several recreational staples from the locker room, including the basketball hoop near Jackson’s and Flowers’ stalls, the pingpong table that rookies Buchanan and Mike Green often battled on after practice, the once-popular cornhole boards, and yes, the video game consoles, often lit up with intense rounds of Super Smash Bros., that regularly drew small crowds of teammates late in the day.”

While there’s a time and a place for fun vs. work, it doesn’t seem like the problem in the Ravens’ season was the dunk contest that Jackson and Flowers were holding on a hoop in the corner of the locker room.

This seems, most likely, to go down as one of those seasons that just never quite has an explanation. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong for the Ravens. And now they can’t even play Super Smash Bros. to blow off some steam.
