The Seattle Seahawks are going to do everything necessary to stay competitive in an NFC West battle heading into their Monday Night Football matchup against the Houston Texans.
Seattle will have to win tonight to match the San Francisco 49ers (5-2) and the Los Angeles Rams (5-2) for the top of the division.
As they look to battle it out in a primetime matchup, Seattle will be short in the defensive secondary after cornerback Devon Witherspoon and safety Julian Love were given an injury designation.
Seahawks rule CB Devon Witherspoon, S Julian Love as out for MNF vs. Texans
Senior NFL insider Adam Schefter announced the news just over an hour before kickoff, saying that Devon Witherspoon (knee) and Julian Love (hamstring) will miss yet another game in Week 7 against the Houston Texans.
It will be Witherspoon’s fifth straight missed game and Love’s fourth straight missed game.
The Seahawks elevated cornerback Shaquill Griffin and safety Jerrick Reed II on Monday to help fill the void in the defensive secondary.
Griffin, 30, has appeared in two games for the Seahawks this season, tallying seven total tackles.
Reed II, 25, has played in three games, recording two total tackles.
On a brighter note, Seattle will be getting back cornerback Riq Woolen after the former Pro Bowler missed the Week 6 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a concussion.
