Matthew Stafford reminded everyone why he remains one of the NFL’s most dependable veterans, making league history during the Los Angeles Rams’ 35-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium.

The 37-year-old quarterback threw for 182 yards and five touchdowns, becoming the first player ever to record five or more touchdown passes in an NFL International Series game.

The performance marked Stafford’s first five-touchdown outing since 2015 and helped the Rams improve to 5-2 on the season. After alternating wins and losses since their 2-0 start, Los Angeles finally found rhythm on both sides of the ball.

Despite missing top receiver Puka Nacua, Stafford completed 21 of 33 passes and led the Rams to their most dominant win of 2025. It was a convincing reminder of his ability to command an offense, even against one of the league’s top defenses.

Rams dominate as Stafford and defense deliver statement win

Los Angeles had struggled offensively over the previous two weeks, averaging 348 yards and 20 points, but Sunday’s performance changed the tone. Stafford spread the ball efficiently and connected three times with wideout Davante Adams, including a fade to the right corner for Adams’ third score of the game.

The play marked Adams’ 25th career multi-touchdown performance and his third with three touchdowns. “And we have history,” broadcaster Rich Eisen said on NFL Network. “Davante Adams’ third touchdown catch of the day and Matthew Stafford sets an International Series record with his fifth touchdown throw here at Wembley.”

The Rams’ defense matched the offense’s energy. Rookie pass rusher Jared Verse opened the game with a sack on Trevor Lawrence, setting the tone for a relentless pass rush that produced seven sacks overall.

Jacksonville’s lone bright spot came from rookie Travis Hunter, who scored his first NFL touchdown in the fourth quarter and finished with eight receptions for 101 yards.

The Jaguars fell to 4-3 heading into their bye week, while the Rams, also entering a Week 8 break, looked every bit like contenders again.

Stafford’s record-setting outing was his fifth career game with five touchdown passes and his sixth with four or more scores and no interceptions.
