With one of its strongest teams in recent memory, Mira Costa (6-1) might just have a legitimate dark horse shot at a Bay League title in 2025. After cruising past Lawndale and Culver City the last two weeks, the Mustangs now take aim at the usual favorite, Inglewood.
The Sentinels, however, are fighting to keep their reign alive after losing 43-32 to Leuzinger two weeks ago. Both teams have a lot to win and lose in a game that should be a complete tossup.

This game has a good handful of serious Division I prospects, most of who are on Inglewood. That includes 4-star DL Myels Smith, 3-star DL Sarrel Howard (Stanford), 3-star CBs Iroc Cordova (Harvard) and Noah Clark, and all-state tight end Andre Nickerson, a 3-star SMU commit. Unranked junior RB Semaj Welch has also been one of the Sentinels’ top players with 903 yards and six touchdowns on 8.9 yards per carry.
Mira Costa is led by the 3-star QB/RB duo of Liam Meeker (1,249 yards, 13 touchdowns, three interceptions on 62.7% completion; 285 yards and four touchdowns rushing) and AJ McBean (532 rushing yards, seven rushing touchdowns; seven catches for 79 yards and one touchdown). Other top Mustangs include WR/TE/LB Luke Meeker (17 catches for 513 yards and six touchdowns; 45 tackles, seven sacks, one interception) and LB Joaquin Wagner-Bagues (74 tackles, 11 tackles for loss).
