Los Angeles Lakers fans were recently tricked into thinking the kids of two NBA superstars were dating.
Fans were duped into thinking LeBron James’ oldest son, Bronny James, 21, was in a relationship with Kobe Bryant’s oldest daughter, Natalia Bryant, 22, after a fake news story was posted on several social media platforms last week.
“BREAKING: Bronny James confirmed his relationship with Natalia Bryant, the daughter of the late Kobe Bryant 💜,” the caption of a post shared to Threads on Sat. Oct. 11 read.
The post even included a fake quote from Bronny that said, “Natalia and I have a relationship,” alongside a side-by-side image of the two.
Duped fans were quick to comment on the post praising the new couple, with one person writing, “Yeahhh I’m happy for them.”
Others who saw a similar post shared to Facebook weren’t fooled by the story, with several suggesting it was a fake rumor.

While there’s no question that the kids of the late Kobe, who tragically died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California in 2020, and LeBron would make one heck of a Lakers royalty power couple if they decided to date, the story is fake news, and nothing more.
Bronny is currently in a relationship with Parker Whitfield. The couple were first linked in August 2024 after they were spotted sitting courtside together at the Paris Olympics. A few months after the public outing, Whitfield confirmed their relationship status when she posted a tribute to Bronny on National Boyfriend Day, writing, “Bf day! I love you! @bronny.”
Natalia isn’t currently publicly linked to anyone. She instead seems laser focused on her film career after her recent graduation from USC. She released her first short film, “Forever Iconic,” earlier this month.
