This time, Max Muncy got the ball over the fence.

The Los Angeles Dodgers‘ star was involved in a bizarre 8-6-2 double play on Monday night when he couldn’t quite leave the yard with the bases loaded, and a weird deflection confused all the L.A. baserunners.

On Tuesday, that was not an issue. Muncy got a little bit more on his fly ball to dead centerfield, and with that home run, he made history.

No one has hit more homers in Dodgers playoff history than Muncy. It was his 14th bomb in the postseason.

He broke a three-way tie with Corey Seager and Justin Turner, who each had 13, per @JayHayKid.

It certainly helps to be in this modern era of playoff baseball where there are more rounds. That’s why the three guys at the top are recent players.

But it’s still remarkable that Muncy has made it to the top of that list.

Muncy was never pegged for this kind of a career, not when he was in the Athletics organization, not when he was still searching for his optimal swing.

But somehow, when he came to the Dodgers, Muncy also unlocked his power. He’s been one of baseball’s more dangerous power hitters for many years now, and when the postseason rolls around, Muncy elevates his game even more.

The Dodgers have won two World Series titles with Muncy in the fold, and they’re chasing another one in 2025.

If Muncy can expand his record, it’ll help the cause toward another ring.
