The Buffalo Bills will now enter their bye week on a two-game losing streak after succumbing to the Atlanta Falcons 24-14 as Josh Allen and the offense were held in check for most of the game.
Without tight end Dalton Kincaid and receiver Curtis Samuel, the Bills lost Joshua Palmer to injury in the second quarter after he had exploded for 60 yards on two receptions, as it meant Buffalo’s other weapons had to step up.
And they didn’t, with Keon Coleman (11 yards), Tyrell Shavers (27 yards), and Khalil Shakir (33 yards) not able to power through the adversity, and Allen detailed his thoughts on losing Palmer.
“I mean, not great, being down Dalton [Kincaid], obviously down Curtis [Samuel],” Allen said. “Guys got to step up in that position and thought there were some plays made, but I got to be better for this team.”

Bills’ shortcomings not all on Allen
With the receiving room not offering much, as Allen was forced to either scramble for yards or get sacked (four times), there is plenty of blame to go around.
The offensive line struggled to hold up against Atlanta’s pass rush, and Allen hardly looked comfortable all night, yet No. 17 is here taking full blame for the loss, as good leaders do, but we know it isn’t all on him.
Some? Sure, but not all, and now heading into the bye week, the Bills must figure out what is going wrong because Allen’s turnovers are starting to happen again, and he’s already been sacked 12 times through six games – he had 14 through the entire 2024 season.
So, something has to change.
