Let’s file a new entry into the Mr. October category:

Seattle Mariners infielder Jorge Polanco.

Three games in a row, Polanco has had a go-ahead hit in the fifth inning or later. That’s the first time that has happened in MLB history, according to OptaStats.

On Monday night, Polanco drilled a three-run home run to go from 3-3 to 6-3 against the Toronto Blue Jays.

That Polanco home run sent the Mariners on their way to a big win to go up 2-0 in the best-of-seven ALCS.

The best news: The Mariners are heading to Seattle to continue the series at home.

This has been a special season for Polanco. It seemed like he may have been washed up, but this year, he revitalized his career.

And now, he’s getting to do it all on the biggest of stages.

Well, almost the biggest.

The Mariners have never been to the World Series. Polanco has never been there, either.

But if he keeps doing it, Polanco will push the Mariners to the Fall Classic.

And if he continues this streak when they get there, Seattle has a chance to hoist the biggest trophy in the sport.
