Patrick Mahomes is making sure all the players will soon know the words to Taylor Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl.
Swift released her 12th studio album on Friday, Oct. 3, and the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is honoring the singer’s new project by playing it during their practices.
“Oh, yeah, for sure. I’m super excited,” Mahomes answered when asked by radio show ‘The Drive’ on 96.5FM in Kansas City on if he is going to listen to Swift’s new album. ” I haven’t been able to hear the album yet, but I’m super excited to be able to do that.”
Not only will Mahomes be listening to the 12-track album, he plans to have the Chiefs players listen during practice on release day.
“It’ll be blaring all through the Chiefs facility tomorrow,” Mahomes said. “We’ll be supporting Taylor, and she’s putting in so much hard work to this, and I’m excited to hear the album just like everybody else.”
Mahomes and Swift have formed a friendship via her relationship to his friend and teammate, Travis Kelce. Swift and Kelce have been dating for two years, and in August, the Chiefs’ tight end proposed to her. The couple shared the news in a joint post on Instagram, which featured the proposal in a garden at the athlete’s home in Leawood, KS.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” the caption read.
Mahomes is married to Brittany Mahomes, and Kelce and Swift have been spotted hanging out with the Mahomes at sporting events as well as on double dates throughout the years. Kelce was a groomsman in Mahomes’ wedding in 2022. As of now, when Kelce and Swift plan to get married specifically has not been stated, but a source told Us Weekly last month that the couple plans to get married “likely going to be early next year.”
