The Colorado Buffaloes welcome the BYU Cougars to Boulder on Saturday in a rematch of last year’s Alamo Bowl.
Deion Sanders and Colorado will be hoping to avenge last year’s Alamo Bowl defeat, which BYU won 36-14. The Buffaloes are 2-2 in the current campaign after wins over Delaware Blue Hens and Wyoming Cowboys, while they lost to Georgia Tech and Houston Cougars.
Colorado have used multiple quarterbacks this season. They began the year with Kaidon Salter, then switched to Ryan Staub, before Salter was recalled — in last week’s 37-20 win over Wyoming, he went 18-of-28 passing for 304 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
Meanwhile, BYU has a perfect 3-0 start, beating Portland State, Stanford, and East Carolina. The Cougars will hope to exploit Colorado’s struggling defense as their rushing offense is ranked seventh in college football with 265.7 yards per game, facing a Buffaloes defense, which is ranked 122nd, giving up 194.5 yards per game on the ground.
