For the first time in a handful of years, the Tennessee Titans entered the 2025 season feeling optimistic about their offensive line.
How could they not? They’ve spent a ton of resources over the last few years in hopes of fixing what was undeniably one of the worst units in the league. The revamped group includes a couple of recent first-round picks — RT JC Latham and LG Peter Skoronski. Tennessee also brought in three talented veterans via free agency — LT Dan Moore, Center Lloyd Cushenberry & RG Kevin Zeitler.
Unfortunately, their investment has yet to pay off. Through three games, the Titans have allowed a league-worst 15 sacks through 12 quarters of football. Injuries have been the main issue to this point. Both Latham (Hip) and Zeitler (Bicep) have missed time with their respective injuries, subsequently exposing the team’s depth along the offensive line, or lack thereof.
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report recently wrote an article listing 10 players who could be on the trade block, and he had an interesting suggestion that could potentially help Tennessee going forward. Knox suggested former first-round pick and backup guard for the New York Giants, Evan Neal as someone the Titans could possibly be interested in.
It’s no secret that Neal hasn’t panned out the way the Giants had hoped, and a change of scenery could benefit both parties. The Alabama Product has experience playing both guard and tackle, and that versatility could make him an intriguing option for an O-Line-needy team like the Titans.
Neal’s upside alone is much more intriguing than any of the reserve linemen the Titans currently have, especially along the right side. He’d be competing with the likes of Blake Hance, John Ojukwu, and Oli Udoh for the top reserve spot at both Right Guard and Right Tackle.
The suggested compensation is only a Conditional 7th-Round pick in next year’s draft, and if that’s the case, I don’t think anybody would blame the Titans if they ultimately decide to kick the tires on someone who still has a ton of untapped potential.
