Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong might be one of the more polarizing players in Major League Baseball.

When Crow-Armstrong is playing at the best of his abilities, there’s a real argument to be made that he’s a superstar. For much of the first half, he was one of the better five players in MLB. Unfortunately, for most of the second half, he’s struggled mightily, which includes a brutal stretch recently.

Four for his last 22 as of Tuesday night, the Chicago youngster will have to figure it out entering his first postseason.

Cubs’ Pete Crow-Armstrong continues to struggle

The issue, however, is that it isn’t easy to figure out. In fact, skipper Craig Counsell went as far as saying that he has a hard time breaking down his swing every day, which is the last thing that anybody wants to hear about the youngster.

“It’s a daily question, and no offense to that, but I don’t know what to tell you,” Counsell said, per The Athletic. “I have a hard time breaking down Pete’s swing every single day. Swing at good pitches. Hit ‘em hard. Use the barrel. That’ll work.”

While Crow-Armstrong has had some struggles at times throughout his young career, the success should outweigh them. Only 23 years old, there’s reason to believe that at some point, he’ll fix the things that he has to offensively.

Even if his offensive production is down, he’s still one of the best base stealers and defenders in baseball.

Nonetheless, as the Cubs get ready for the postseason, they’ll need all hands on deck, which includes Crow-Armstrong swinging the bat at the level he’s expected to.
