There’s just a bit of a sense that the sky is falling around Arch Manning.
But maybe there’s a reason to give the Texas Longhorns‘ quarterback phenom a bit of a break.
As it turns out, Manning hasn’t started his college career that differently than his uncles, Peyton and Eli.
Bleacher Report shared each of the three QBs’ stats through six college starts, given that Arch just made his sixth start (four this season, two last season).
The breakdown is pretty darn close.
At Tennessee through six starts, Peyton Manning had 1,682 total yards.
At Ole Miss through six starts, Eli Manning had 1,657 yards.
And so far through six starts, Arch has 1,623 total yards.
Arch is outdoing his uncles in total touchdowns, 19 to 14 for Eli and 13 for Peyton.
They were all 5-1 through six starts, too.
The only number that Arch definitively loses in is interceptions.
Through six starts, Arch has been picked off five times. That was three for Peyton and just one for Eli.
Arch gets a break this weekend with Texas on a bye.
Manning’s next test comes the following Saturday in Gainesville with Texas visiting the Florida Gators, and then it’s the Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma on Oct. 11.
Longhorns fans are hoping Arch finds a way to keep following in his uncles’ footsteps.
