Manchester City suffered another result that dropped points in their latest game against Arsenal.
Pep Guardiola’s side took an early lead thanks to Erling Haaland, but Arsenal substitute Gabriel Martinelli leveled the game in stoppage time.
Guardiola admitted his side was outplayed by Arsenal, but City captain Bernardo Silva has taken a different approach to justifying the result.
What did Silva say led to City’s draw against Arsenal?
Speaking to the media after the match, Silva blamed the Premier League’s scheduling for City’s draw.
Silva said, “It is not fair to play one of these games like this. It is just not right.”

“The reality is we cannot come into one of the most important games in the season with such a disadvantage, in terms of rest.”
Manchester City faced Napoli in the Champions League on Thursday, September 18, with less than three days to prepare before the clash with Arsenal.
The Gunners had two extra days of preparation, after their European matchup with Athletic Club was on Tuesday, September 16.
Silva continued, “I wasn’t feeling in a perfect condition to play like this, and people who have not played at the highest level don’t know how it feels to play a game like this. You need to be at your best condition.
“I don’t think that they are trying to make us lose a game.
“It could happen to Arsenal or Liverpool in a few months. But when you are playing an Arsenal v. City, or a City v. Liverpool, or a Liverpool v. Arsenal, you need to have a bit of common sense, and understanding of these situations.”
City have now turned their attention to their Carabao Cup matchup against Huddersfield Town on the 24th, before returning to Premier League action against Burnley three days later on the 27th.
