The news isn’t great for the Dallas Cowboys and CeeDee Lamb.

Lamb, the superstar wide receiver, left Sunday’s loss to the Chicago Bears with an ankle injury.

On Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that it’s a high ankle sprain.

The injury makes it “unlikely” that Lamb will play on Sunday night against the Packers, according to Schefter.

“The Cowboys want to see how Lamb is doing the next 10-14 days before making further determinations about his status,” Schefter added on X.

The Cowboys count on Lamb to do so much, catching both short passes that work as an extension of the run game while also making plays down the field.

But nothing went right for Dallas on Sunday as the Bears picked up their first win of the season and knocked the Cowboys to 1-2.

Without Lamb, trade acquisition George Pickens will have to step up.

Pickens has been mostly second fiddle to Lamb in the early going, but he’s got no choice but to be WR1, at least for a bit.

The Cowboys will also have to give more snaps to Jalen Tolbert and KeVontae Turpin at secondary wide receiver spots.

It’s not ideal to lose Lamb before a matchup with Micah Parsons and the potent Packers defense. But the Cowboys will have to make do.
