The non-conference matchup between 13th-ranked Oklahoma and Temple suddenly has a bit of a storyline. Before Brent Venables’ weekly press conference, two OU reporters were caught on a hot mic dissing the SEC-AAC matchup. They went back and forth talking about the environment on campus in Philadelphia and came to a general consensus.
“It’s going to be like a high school game,” one reporter said.
While the comment was innocent, some of the media covering Temple didn’t take the conversation lightly. “Don’t poke the bear, Oklahoma,” Barstool Philly’s X account wrote.

The reported are expecting about 25,000 Sooners fans to make the trip to the city of “Brotherly Love” for Saturday’s game. This is the back end of a home-and-home series with Oklahoma and Temple. The Owls took home a 51-3 loss from Norman last year.
Venables’ team will be looking to stay perfect before a jam-packed SEC schedule. After Temple, all of the Sooners’ conference opponents are currently ranked. They’ll face No. 24 Auburn next week before the non-conference finale with Kent State during the following week. The final seven SEC contests will prove where OU sits in the 12-team College Football Playoff picture.
No. 13 Oklahoma and Temple will kick off at Noon ET on Saturday.
