Texas coach Steve Sarkisian dismissed rumors Monday that quarterback Arch Manning is dealing with an injury, brushing aside speculation during his weekly press conference.
A reporter asked Sarkisian if Manning was hurt after claiming to have noticed the sophomore grimace during a recent moment. Sarkisian cut off the line of questioning.
“According to who?” Sarkisian responded. When the reporter said it looked like it, Sarkisian said simply, “He doesn’t.”
Oh man, I can’t believe he had to say this but I’m glad he did. You can see a glimmer in his eye where he’s proud of the quip. pic.twitter.com/xF06rhNvgG

Sarkisian then used some humor to further drive home his point after reporters pressed him. “I’ve never filmed any of you guys using the bathroom, so I don’t know what faces you do when doing that,” he said.
Manning, the Longhorns’ starting quarterback, has occasionally shown facial expressions on the field that some fans have interpreted as signs of discomfort. However, Sarkisian made clear that the former five-star recruit is healthy.
Observers have jokingly referred to such moments as the “Manning twitch,” pointing out that uncles Eli and Peyton Manning also had distinctive mannerisms during their playing careers.
