College football returns to the cheese state — the Wisconsin Badgers have high hopes for a resurgence heading into the 2025 season.
Three years ago began the Luke Fickell era in Madison, which brought hope to fans that the Badgers could restore what was once a powerhouse program. Flash forward, and Wisconsin has settled for 7-6 and 5-7 seasons under Fickell, with patience running thin.
With some talented additions and coaching changes in the offseason, fans shouldn’t give up hope. What might be the Badgers’ biggest struggle, though, is their schedule. The squad will face some brutal opponents, like the past two National Champions, Ohio State and Michigan; last year’s Big Ten champion, Oregon; and Alabama and Indiana.
Either way, quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. will bring new energy under center, and he will have a pair of talented running backs to work with in Dilin Jones and Darrion Dupree. Some transfer talent and a bigger defensive line should also help on the other side of the ball.

Wisconsin football radio announcers 2025
The duo of Matt Lepay and Mark Tauscher return to call Wisconsin Badgers football in 2025. Lepay has been the voice of the Badgers for more than 30 years, calling football since 1994. His storied career includes six Rose Bowls and five Big Ten football championships. Lepay was also recently inducted into the Wisconsin Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
Tauscher is a former Badger football player and Green Bay Packers lineman. He took over as the lead analyst for Badgers football radio broadcasts in 2023. Tauscher was a part of the 1999 Big Ten championship team.
