WWE may be hoping the PR nightmare that resulted from Becky Lynch’s comments about Ozzy Osbourne during Monday’s edition of Monday Night Raw, which took place in the former Black Sabbath singer’s hometown, gets swept away by the news cycle.

The company is not immediately commenting on it. As the New York Post shared, company officials did not share any response when asked about the incident.

The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez shared from his sources that the WWE is “embarrassed” over Lynch’s comments.

“You could just hear the crowd, they died. They did not want to hear about the death of Ozzy, they did not want Ozzy’s death used as cheap pro wrestling heat,” Alvarez said.

Lynch’s attacks on the city of Birmingham were taken as personal by Kelly Osbourne, who claimed Birmingham citizens wouldn’t p*ss on her if she were on fire. Lynch said she’d want to die too if she were from Birmingham.

“The only good thing that came out of here died a month ago. But in fairness to Ozzy Osbourne, he had the good sense to move to LA, a proper city, because if I lived in Birmingham, I’d die too,” Lynch said during her promo.

Lynch also spoke about Britain’s long-standing oppression of Ireland during the promo. The seven-time world champion has often been vocal about her stances, often wearing Palestinian colors to reflect her views on the ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza.

As Lynch moves into the second phase of her career, where she’s transitioning into taking movies and being a mother, she may care less about the consequences of speaking out – knowing full well she has the leverage at this stage.

As “The Man” does.
