Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future has become one of the defining stories of the summer window, with the Italian goalkeeper now caught between PSG’s plans and Manchester City’s interest.
Once seen as indispensable in Paris, the 26-year-old fell out of favor with manager Luis Enrique after the arrival of Lucas Chevalier, a signing that effectively pushed him out of the first-team picture.
According to reports, PSG have priced Donnarumma at around €40m [£34.5m], though Manchester City are unwilling to meet that figure right now,
While Fabrizio Romano suggests that an agreement could yet be struck for a fee between €30m [$34m] and €35m [$40m], with discussions continuing as the clock ticks toward deadline day.
But the situation isn’t that easy and the move hinges on City’s own goalkeeping setup.
Long-time starter Ederson remains at the club and Donnarumma’s potential arrival depends on the Brazilian leaving.

Turkish champions Galatasaray are said to be keen but have yet to make an official bid.
Earlier in the summer, Manchester United and Galatasaray were floated as destinations for Donnarumma, though both have since withdrawn interest, leaving City with the clearest path.
PSG star weighs his options
While the Italian wants to leave, it all depends on finding suitable club.
According to French daily L’Equipe [via Le 10 sport], his entourage insists “he’s ready to stay until January if he doesn’t find a club that’s interesting enough.”

Yet PSG may be rethinking their stance as the transfer window nears its close.
A sale in January would almost certainly bring in less revenue, weakening the Parisians’ negotiating hand.
Donnarumma, who has played 161 times for PSG and kept 56 clean sheets since joining on a free in 2021, remains a Champions League-winning goalkeeper now left waiting to see if Manchester City finalize their move or if he must prolong an uneasy stay in Paris.
