The Cleveland Browns had five quarterbacks on their active roster when the clock hit triple zeroes in their final preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams. They released Snoop Huntley shortly after, and now they have traded one of their veterans.
The Browns have traded Kenny Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders, per Ian Rapoport.
“The Raiders are trading for Browns QB Kenny Pickett, sources tell The Insiders, filling a key void before the season,” Rapoport posted on X. “It’s a 2026 5th rounder going back. With Aidan O’Connell’s injury, Pickett, with plenty of experience, becomes the backup to Geno Smith.”
Pickett has now been traded three times in the last 17 months. The Pittsburgh Steelers traded him to the Philadelphia Eagles in March of 2024 after signing Russell Wilson, and the Eagles dealt him to Cleveland this past March. He now goes to Las Vegas where he’ll likely be the primary backup to Geno Smith.
